Learn vocabulary,
but learn the genre -
Dewey decimal system,
i.e.
that section of the library -
Books right next door
to each other,
Researchers reference
each other,
Authors give praise
to each other,
Reviewers critique
their brothers.
Know your authors'
audiences;
They will write to appeal
to their particular audiences.
Know yourself,
the books you like,
the books you prefer;
Test your books
by reading the first page,
even the first chapter,
and compare it to others
in the genre/section.
If you like it,
you should know quickly,
but remember which page
you were on...
If you don't like it,
don't force yourself
to read it.
Literature
is to be enjoyed.
